I keep getting asked about using this gizmo for cooking veggies. As I experiment I will add to list. Perhaps you could all help out by adding your thoughts and observations too. I like my veggies ‘al dent’ so the times I’m giving here are the minimum. If you want softer veg add 30 seconds a time until you get the texture you want. I’m using an 850W microwave.
It seems that the basic principle is to use one measure of water. Cook with the valve at the top in the closed position.
To get ‘boiled’ veggies just put them straight in. for ‘steamed’ put the veggies in a bowl inside the pressure cooker.
Carrots 8 minutes
Cauliflower florets 5 minutes
Broccoli florets 5 minutes 8oz
Boiled potatoes for mash 10 minutes 1.5 lbs
New potatoes 1lb 7 minutes
